Come on now, sugar

Quick programming note: happily, the "gods" at the CW (and I use the term oh-so-loosely) have heard my prayers and picked up Veronica Mars for the rest of the season, meaning 7 more episodes and a fitting, not at all truncated, conclusion to the latest mystery. Hallelujah! Every once in a while, good, snappy writing gets rewarded. And, though it pains me to say it, VM has benefited from following Gilmore Girls this season because, sigh, GG has been so patently awful. The tv reviewer for the New York Times observed that GG has changed so much as to be unrecognizable as its former self, and the lacking-anything-even-remotely-resembling-luster writing is the culprit, I'm afraid. So, one quality show bites the dust and another rises out of its ashes, at least temporarily. It's almost poetic. Or something.
